COMMUNITY STUDENTS

HOME OF THE CURRENT AND THE COVE

The Cove
(Middle School Ministry 5th – 8th Grade)

A cove is a small bay that offers shelter from a larger body of water. Our middle school ministry is a place of refuge where students have the opportunity to explore their beliefs. In a world that can be chaotic, we point students to the Creator God who produces order out of chaos. We provide students with a safe environment where they can find truth, community, and rest for their soul.

“You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds, God our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas, who formed the mountains by your power, having armed yourself with strength, who stilled the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the turmoil of the nations. The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy” (Ps. 65:5-8, NIV).

“At that time Jesus said, ‘I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children’ … ‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light’” (Matt. 11:25, 28-30, NIV).

The Current
(High School Ministry 9th – 12th Grade)

A current is the direction that a body of water flows. The young adults of today are poised to set the direction of the body of Christ and subsequently the direction of our world. Our high school ministry seeks to equip our students with a vibrant relationship with Jesus that will revive them and prepare them for the truth to flow out from them to their peers and the next generation. Each student will be encouraged to live a life of purpose serving the Kingdom of God with their unique gifts. They will be motivated to serve their community, build healthy relationships, and make wise choices as they surge towards eternal life.

“Since my youth, God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds. Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come” (Ps. 71:17-18, NIV).

“Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, ‘Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them’” (John 7:37-38, NIV).

“But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life” (John 4:14, NIV).
